Wild Roots kids project
The Kids project is the base of our culture. The world we want for our kids is also the world we want for ourselves. The following highlights our vision for our kids project.

Our story

The Wild Roots Project grew from years of experience, reflection, and a deep response to the evolving needs of our own children. As we searched for a more aligned approach to learning and living, we found ourselves not only rethinking education—but also embarking on a spiritual journey and questioning the status quo.

Through participating in various projects and creating our own initiatives, the puzzle pieces began to fall into place. From this journey, a set of core values emerged—pillars that now shape the culture we’re building with and for our children. Within this framework, we welcome flow, creativity, and the organic unfolding of a new way of being together.
Vision Highlights
Interest based learning
The core of our vision is interest based learning. We follow the interest of the kids. Meaning that we are in close contact with the kids to see where their interest lies. We then support them to develop their skills so that they can pursue their interests.
Emphasizing on their interest not only keeps them engaged, they also develop a strong connection with their inner self. Something that we see is lost in Western-knowledge-transfer-based education systems.
Nature
based
setting
we see it as necessary for the project to be based in and around nature for the children to strengthen the connection with their bodies, . Children's senses and motory skills develop and with this more connection to the self.
We use the natural cycle of the seasons as a reference.
Project
based
learning
We emphasize on project based learning. From their interest a topic is picked and transformed into a project and if possible, a cooperation project. They will set their targets (in guidence with the facilitator), make a plan for what is necessary to reach that target. And then implement it. They learn along the way!
The power of project based learning is that they pragmatically learn to cooperate and help each other reaching their goals. We move from competition to cooperation.
Shared
culture
We involve parents in the process meaning that our core values not are lived within the project but also at the parents home. This way we create a unified culture in which the children can develop optimally
Help us Grow

Our next step is to root our culture on a land where we can also host families. To do this, we are looking for a place that embraces the beauty and potential of a children-centered project—or we need to gather the financial resources to purchase land ourselves.
We envision starting with the Wild Roots Project and a small group of families (between 5 and 10) to begin building the foundation of our community. Over time, this will grow into a full village structure, including shared spaces, learning hubs, and regenerative systems.
An essential part of our vision is welcoming children from outside the core community—ensuring the project remains open, inclusive, and connected to the wider world.
