Our Core Philosophy
Wild Roots is a child‑focused, nature‑based learning environment where children develop social, emotional, practical, and cognitive skills through real‑life experiences.
Learning emerges from curiosity, not obligation.
Children stay in their bodies longer — moving, exploring, building, and engaging with nature — before shifting into academics when they are developmentally ready.
Our philosophy is grounded in:
• Child‑led, interest‑driven learning
• Development before academics
• Nature as the primary classroom
• Social and emotional development first

How Learning Happens at Wild Roots
Project‑Based Learning Cycles
Children co‑create multi‑week projects with facilitators.
Projects grow from their interests and curiosity.
Real‑Life Skills
Cooking, gardening, building, animal care, water systems, carpentry, nature awareness, and basic livelihood skills are part of daily life.
Mixed‑Age Learning
Older children mentor younger ones.
Younger children inspire creativity and play.
Movement between groups is fluid and based on developmental needs.
Meaningful Academics
Short, focused cognitive sessions are offered for children who ask for them — always integrated into real projects.

Our Environment
Wild Roots takes place in a rich natural environment that includes:
-
indoor spaces for Roots and Sprouts
-
an outdoor kitchen
-
1.5 hectares of forest
-
treehouses, huts, and natural play structures
-
access to a small lake and regeneration dams
Future additions include chickens, a pond, more animals, a carpentry workshop, and a farm store.
"Education is the most powerful weapon
which you can use to change the world"

Community & Culture
Wild Roots is a parent‑led initiative.
Families co‑create the project, share responsibilities, and align on shared values — especially around screens, communication, boundaries, and emotional maturity.
Integration into the group requires commitment, trial periods, and alignment checks to ensure stability and coherence.

Our communication culture is based on:
-
non‑violent communication
-
emotional awareness
-
honesty
-
shared responsibility

Long‑Term Vision
Wild Roots is growing toward a village‑like environment where:

-
children grow up with many role models
-
families live nearby or on shared land
-
kids roam freely between homes, nature, and the project
-
learning, farming, and livelihood blend into daily life

The long‑term vision includes a regenerative farm ecosystem where children learn food production, water management, construction, entrepreneurship, and ecological stewardship — and where traveling families can visit, contribute, and be inspired.

we borrow it from our children."
