Our Vision

A regenerative ecosystem
Herdade do Passo is a regenerative land-based ecosystem designed to integrate community, hospitality, education, and enterprise into one coherent whole. Rooted in 135 hectares of restoration, the project brings together long-term residential living, eco-hospitality, a farm shop and café, education infrastructure, and an online knowledge platform.
Structured through a thoughtful multi-entity legal and financial architecture, the project is built to protect land stewardship, manage development responsibly, limit operational risk, and provide long-term clarity for partners and investors. At its core, Herdade do Passo is designed for resilience — ecologically, socially, and economically.

The Farmshop The Heart of the Village
The farmshop is more than a place to buy food — it’s the central meeting point
.
It’s where parents meet after tending the land, where children run in with muddy hands, where elders linger to share stories.
Fresh produce, handmade goods, and shared meals create a rhythm of connection.
This is where community happens — naturally, daily, and with warmth.

World School Hub
Our project welcomes worldschooling families, traveling homeschoolers, and location-independent learners who want their children to learn through real life. Instead of traditional schooling, children engage with the land, community, and environment.
During your stay, families can experience:
🌱 regenerative farming and ecosystem restoration
🌿 nature-based and project-based learning
🐓 daily life on a regenerative farm
🔥 community gatherings and shared meals
🌍 meeting other worldschooling families
The hub offers a place to pause during your travels, immerse in nature, and participate in meaningful learning experiences before continuing your journey.
Whether you stay a few days, a few weeks, or longer, your family becomes part of a living experiment in regenerative living, education, and community.
Learn from the land. Connect with others. Continue your journey inspired by nature.
Co-Working
connecting to the world
Our cosy co-working space offer room for those who want to work online - in nature. Temporary technology enables us to bring the world to us with highspeed internet
It also offers exactly what we think is important. Adults that have the kids in the Wild Roots program are always close and when something pops-up, they are there.
We also serve an increasingly growing group of digital nomads.
Do you come and work?

Pizza night
Community gathering

When the fire is lit, people gather. Dough is shaped together, local ingredients are shared, and long tables fill with laughter. Around the same traditional Portuguese oven that bakes our artisan bread, connection happens naturally.
Pizza day is simple, warm, and alive — food, fire, and community in one place.

A Living Learning Farm
A farm can offer far more than food production. At Herdade do Passo, the land becomes a living ecosystem for learning, regeneration, and shared life.
The farm functions as an open environment where people of all ages develop practical, ecological, and social skills while reconnecting with the rhythms of the land. Through hands-on experience, the farm becomes a place where sustainability, education, and rural livelihoods come together.
Here, learning grows from practice and participation.
The land provides space for:
-
experiential learning in crafts, repair, natural building, and ecological literacy
-
a tree nursery supporting regional reforestation and climate resilience
-
herbal knowledge and natural health practices
-
composting, soil regeneration, and circular economy skills
-
nature-based education for children and youth
-
local livelihoods connected to regenerative land stewardship
-
community gatherings and cultural exchange
-
an online learning network sharing knowledge and results across Europe
At the heart of this work lies regenerative farming — a commitment to give more to the land than we take.
We rebuild the soil with patience and care until it becomes alive again: rich in minerals, able to hold water, and capable of restoring abundance.
This is not simply agriculture. It is stewardship.
We are not only farmers — we are keepers of the earth.
