Welcome to Our Journey
When I think about our vision, actions, and the projects we are building, I realize we need to start somewhere meaningful. What better place to begin than with our logo?
Our logo brings together several elements that represent our identity and mission: the human hand, the sphere of Earth, and the butterfly of transformation. Each symbol reflects an important part of our mission—human responsibility, planetary stewardship, and personal transformation.
The Human Hand — Our Role as Humans
The human hand represents us. The open hand in our logo holds, supports, and is ready to receive. It symbolizes the unique position we hold on Earth.
As a species, we sit at the top of the ecological chain. With our intelligence and creativity, we possess immense power. This power can either create or destroy. Thanks to our highly developed cortex, we can reflect on our actions and consciously change direction. We can learn, grow, and choose different paths.
But this raises an important question: What do we actually mean by “progress”? Is progress measured by more monetary wealth? More control? More power? Are conflicts in the world truly about protecting our families and communities, or do they sometimes arise from unresolved trauma and deeper human struggles?
These questions are complex and global. My personal sphere of influence may not reach far enough to change the entire world. However, I can influence my immediate environment. I can choose to bring positive, constructive, and life-supporting energy into the spaces around me. That is where real change begins.
The Sphere — Our Shared Planet
The sphere in our logo represents Earth—our shared home. We say “our” planet not because we own it, but because we share it with all life.
Earth is an extraordinary place filled with incredible biodiversity. From microscopic bacteria to the largest animals swimming in the oceans, life exists in countless forms. Our planet contains forests, jungles, deserts, tundra, plains, mountains, rivers, and oceans—each ecosystem supporting its own web of life.
When we step back from our daily struggles and truly observe the planet we live on, it becomes clear how abundant and miraculous Earth really is. The circle also symbolizes wholeness and completeness. Life on Earth is part of an interconnected circle. We are not outside of this system—we are part of it.
Our role is not to dominate life but to act as caretakers and catalysts for regeneration, helping ecosystems thrive rather than controlling them.
The Butterfly — Transformation and Growth
The butterfly represents transformation. Few symbols express change more clearly than the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. This transformation is profound. A crawling creature becomes a flying one.
The butterfly reminds us that change is possible. Not necessarily physical change, but inner transformation. When we face our shadows, heal our patterns, and grow emotionally and spiritually, we become more compassionate, conscious, and caring human beings. True change begins within ourselves. When inner transformation happens, the external world begins to change as well.
Our Commitment to Regenerative Living
At the Nature of Life Foundation, we are committed to creating a thriving regenerative community in Portugal. Our focus is on nature-based education and sustainable living. We aim to cultivate a model for societal repair where children grow up with strong role models and intergenerational knowledge.
Our project, 'Herdade do Passo,' is expanding to become a leading example in rural Europe. We believe that by nurturing a community centered on regenerative practices, we can inspire others to join us in this vital work.
